Craving Someone's Approval

It is a fact that we are social beings, and no one person is an island. We were created to need others and to be needed by them. In this interconnection of human relationships, we all crave a certain level of acceptance, recognition, and validation. We want to belong, to be seen, and to know that our existence matters to someone. I see you and I want you to see me as well.

But here is what troubles me. Why does the rejection of one person sometimes outweigh the acceptance of a hundred others?

Who do you want to accept you? Who do you want to see you? Whose validation and stamp of approval are so important that their silence makes you question your self-worth?

You can be surrounded by people who love and appreciate you, yet feel deeply alone because the one person whose acceptance you desire refuses to acknowledge you. You begin to wonder what you could do differently to please them, earn their attention, or receive their approval.

Why don't they answer my calls or reply to my messages as quickly... Why do I feel as if I am invincible to them... Why do I even care so much that it ruins my day...

At what point does the desire to be accepted become the abandonment of yourself? I often find myself wrestling with two issues. On the one hand, we were created for relationships, and there is nothing wrong with desiring acceptance. On the other hand, should any individual possess so much influence over our identity that their rejection makes us question our existence?

We are often told to love ourselves and seek validation from within. But can self-validation truly quench our desire to be accepted by someone we deeply value? Can the approval of a hundred people compensate for the silence of one?

Maybe the aim is not to get rid of our need for validation but to determine whose validation deserves influence over our lives and how much influence we should allow it to have.

Do we lower our expectations, continue seeking approval, find others who will accept us, or learn to be content with our own validation?

How, then, does one navigate this difficult issue? Honestly, I don't know.

But I wonder whether, in our pursuit of one person's acceptance, we sometimes become blind to the love and appreciation already surrounding us. Why do we keep knocking on that one specific closed door while ignoring the door that has always been open and welcoming to us?

Maybe you could comment and help me see things differently.

Life is not always easy. 💔 Sometimes, we give people our love, care, time, and attention, only to find ourselves feeling rejected, forgotten, or unappreciated. Sometimes, we smile in front of others while carrying pain in our hearts that nobody knows about.

The truth is that life will not always go the way we want it to. Some people will walk into our lives and leave without explaining why. Others will make us feel as if we are not good enough, while some will only appreciate us when they need something from us. But we must learn that not everyone who comes into our lives is meant to stay forever.

Sometimes, life teaches us lessons through pain, disappointment, and loneliness. We learn to stand on our own, to protect our peace, and to stop begging for love, attention, or acceptance from people who do not appreciate us.

Never allow rejection to make you believe that you are worthless. Someone's decision not to love you does not mean you are difficult to love. Someone's failure to appreciate you does not mean you have nothing valuable to offer. You are still worthy of love, respect, happiness, and genuine friendships.

Remember that even the darkest nights eventually give way to morning. 🌅 You may not understand why certain things are happening in your life today, but that does not mean your story ends here.

Take life one day at a time. Learn to love yourself, forgive yourself, and give yourself permission to heal. You do not have to pretend to be strong every day. It is okay to cry, to feel tired, and to admit that life is hurting you.

Most importantly, never measure your happiness by how many people choose to stay in your life. Sometimes, being alone gives you the opportunity to discover who you truly are and what you deserve.

Life is a journey of lessons, not a competition. Everyone has their own struggles, their own timing, and their own battles. Be patient with yourself. Your current situation does not define your entire future. ❤️🙏
